Staff Commodore: Joe Ravitch

Joe Ravitch is currently the Jr Staff Commodore at PLYC. His experience in boating began as a child, spending many weekend on rivers and lakes in Illinois. Joe’s father was passionate about getting the family onto the water, and that passion has not skipped a generation!

Currently, Joe lives aboard his 27’ Coronado at Shelter Island Marina, named Work ‘N Progress. But don’t mistake his sailboat for a floating condo. He sails her regularly on the Bay, anchors out in La Playa, Glorietta, and Mariner’s Basin, and takes her to Catalina once a year for two weeks in April.

Joe wants to encourage fellow members to get out and onto the water.

Joe is very eager to meet many PLYC members, and encourages you to call him up if you would like to go sailing, or even just to hang out at our clubhouse. So if there is anything he can do to help you, please call him and let him know.
